Hire/ Charter Agreement for Vessels

within Starida Sea Services.

1. Introduction: The following sets out the Terms and Conditions for which all vessels owned by Starida Sea Services may be chartered. The document forms an agreement between the owners/Skipper and the Club, party or individual hiring of the vessels.

2. The Vessels: The owners will make available the vessels, licensed, insured and carrying all regulation safety equipment as set out in the M.C.A. Code of Practice for small commercial vessels or Passenger vessels operating within Classes V & VI. The vessels will also carry a licensed Skipper and a crewman when necessary.

3. Payment: A deposit is required to secure a booking, this is normally £100. The remaining balance is due on completion of the charter or trip. For multiple bookings the booking fee is normally carried forward.

4. Size of Party: For the sea fishing, the license restricts us to 12 passengers + 2 crew on all boats. For the Pleasure Cruises the licenses restrict us to 57 passengers + 2 crew. on the Island Princess.  Please remember that for the charter fishing, the charter is for the boat and the charterer is responsible for the full fee regardless of how many are on board.

5. Weather: Please call us on (01248) 810251 at approximately 7pm the night before your trip to check the weather conditions. We acquire weather information from a number of sources, Shipping Forecast, Inshore Forecast, Internet, and T.V etc. Then based on local knowledge, the skipper will decide whether or not to sail. Intelligent interpretation of the best data available does not fully guarantee a correct decision. It is the Skippers nightmare to bring you to Beaumaris full of expectation and then not be able to put to sea. This rarely happens…

6. Behavior: All our Skippers will always treat customers in a helpful, friendly, professional and correct manner. It is also to be expected that the skipper receives the utmost amount of respect and that his decision is ALWAYS final. He is after all, responsible for your Safety and Welfare at all times aboard our boats. There is a zero tolerance rate for the personal consumption of alcohol & drugs aboard our boats AT ALL TIMES and WILL result in a curtailing of the trip without any notice.
